Ephesians 5:16 says, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
The Greek word for “time” in that verse is “kairos” and it means “a strategic opportunity that God sovereignly sends your way.”
Life is not like a straight line from your birth to your death. Life is like a line that has on it key opportunities planned for you by God. If you will recognize those opportunities and seize them when they come, then your whole life’s potential and productivity will increase. Then your life will continue on until God sends another “kairos” for you to redeem. Etc, etc.
The greatest grief expressed by the Son of God while on this earth was because a “kairos” was not redeemed.
This truth also explains why you were born when you were born instead of 100 or 1,000 years ago. The key to your life’s productivity is not how long you live, but how wise you are to redeem the “seasons of opportunity” that God sends your way.
