There is an unusual word that relates to Fathers that occurs three times in the Bible. That word is “Abba.”
All three times it occurs, it occurs with the word “Father.” “Abba, Father.”
“Abba” was an affectionate term of respect used by a child in relation to his father.
“Abba” could mean “Pa,” or “Papa,” or “Pappy,” or “Pop,” or “Daddy,” or “Dad.”
Somebody put it like this: “Anyone can be a Father, but it takes somebody special to be a Daddy.”
Using three key points, this message describes a “spirit of adoption.” It also describes what it means to be a “Daddy’s girl.”
- A Dad is a man who has a pleasant delight in his children.
- A Dad pointedly declares his love for his children.
- A Dad powerfully directs his children's lives.
